The Madame’s Bone Oracle Reading 04.08.20

The Spirits chose MIRROR, FAUNA, and WATER from The Madame’s Bone Oracle.

I’ll break down the meaning of each bone, and then we’ll discuss them as a group.

MIRROR: Reality, truth, certainty, perspective

FAUNA: Animal spirits, healing through connection with animals

WATER: Relationships, Emotions, Healing, Emotional Being

TLDR Version: SELF REFLECTION, TRIGGERED EMOTIONS, HARMONY WITH NATURE (Apologies, I got a bit wordy with this one)

With the Full Moon last night, emotions are running high. I fell down a social media rabbit hole of reading comments on a public post (never a good idea, by the way)  with people talking about feeling “triggered” (their word, not mine) by self improvement and inspirational posts right now, and how incredibly privileged it is of the ones posting them. I’ll admit that I’m not quite sure I understand the privilege implied since there was no context or example provided, but alas…this comment thread was over 50 comments of folks agreeing in sentiment. That was on my mind this morning when I did the bone draw for this reading, and our combination reflects that. As I mentioned before, with 21 bones and 3 bone pulls, there are 1330 unique combinations that can be drawn. This doesn’t include the same bones pulled in a different order or that number goes to the 7000s. There are no coincidences in life, nor in these bone readings.

Monday we had DEATH/FAUNA/AIR.

Tuesday was FIRE/MIRROR/MASK.

Today we have MIRROR/FAUNA/WATER.

Three of the five Elements have made an appearance so far this week, with MIRROR showing up two days in a row, and FAUNA showing up twice. I was interrupted with the first draw, so I put MIRROR back in, shook the bag, and pulled it out a second time. No coincidences. So why am I emphasizing this? Because these are the aspects and areas that we all need to direct some focus to right now as a whole. If this was a personal reading, it may be interpreted differently due to all the variables in a person’s life. This message is for ALL of us. The Spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose – and the messages they want us to receive.

MIRROR is the truth from our perspective. I know there’s this concept that there is ONE truth, and all else is false. I disagree. If you ask 3 different people about an incident that they all experienced together, you are going to get 3 different versions of the truth. The truth from their own perspective. If you look in the MIRROR from 3 different angles, you’re going to see 3 different versions of reality. This is a note to consider perspectives, and our own version of reality. What works for one may not work for all. What hurts your feelings may not hurt another’s. Why are you triggered by someone else’s perspective? Look yourself in the eye. Don’t look away. Who’s looking back, and do you like who you see? Hold the MIRROR farther away from your face and you see more of what is surrounding you. Are you satisfied with what you see? Does it need some changes? Take accountability for that reflection. If you don’t like what you see, then change it. Not because someone else thinks you need to change it to meet their standards, but because it is what is in your own best interest.

FAUNA in this reading is the same as earlier this week. FAUNA is the Animal Kingdom, and humans are animals. FAUNA is here to indicate that this message is for humans as a whole, not just one person. It is also making the point that we as humans affect the Animal Kingdom (and nature in general) by our actions, and that needs to be considered on a more global level. Climate change and pollution come to the forefront. Monkeys, Mountain Goats, and Deer are filing back into cities where people are staying home. There are so many news stories about pollution in places like China, Italy and even the US being lessened (temporarily, at least) by the quarantines due to Covid-19. The water in the Venice canals has cleared significantly in recent weeks. What does this tell us? Nature will have it’s due.

Which brings us to WATER. WATER is our emotional body. Still pond or raging sea? Calm surface with a tempest beneath? WATER is a reflective surface, much like a MIRROR, and has been used as a scrying medium for ages. Like I said in the beginning – the Full Moon last night has brought lots of emotions to the surface. Lots of people are worried financially, are feeling lonely during isolation, and anxiety and depression are rearing their ugly heads even to those who have been in a good place. I think the triggering mentioned in the beginning is due to the messages of “If you don’t come out of this quarantine with a new skill, it wasn’t time you lacked; it was discipline”. And while that is a valid perspective, I think it  leads to people feeling like “I’m barely hanging on, and now you expect me to be a productive powerhouse from down here in the pit?” I get it. It feels harsh and unempathetic. But I promise you, this message comes from the WATERy emotion of LOVE – even though that love may be of the tough variety right now. It’s like your Mom forcing you to swallow that really gross medicine to bring your fever down, and you’re fighting her every step of the way, kicking and flailing and twisting away (you can guess I’ve wrangled with a kid or two over medicine, eh?). You feel terrible, and she has the audacity to cram that horrid concoction in your mouth? Who the hell does she think she is?! Well…she’s not forcing you to take the medicine as punishment, even though it feels that way. She’s doing it because she loves you, and wants you to heal. The “skills” we all should be learning do not have much to do with productivity in an occupational sense. The skills we can start learning at this time are how to heal our wounds, use our many and varied assets to our highest potential and greatest benefit, and to do that in harmony with each other and nature. This doesn’t mean that in the next 4 – 6 weeks, you had better reach the (nonexistent) self-improvement finish line or you fail. The method of doing the work looks different and takes different amounts of time for each of us. Don’t allow your emotions (WATER) to be triggered by someone else’s perspective on this – including mine.
